The "Anti-Fluff" B2B Content Operations Playbook
The internet is full of AI-generated, 2,000-word blog posts that all say the same thing. The old B2B content playbook does not work anymore. Here is what I do instead.
The Bottleneck
Our marketing copy was boring and read like every other B2B SaaS company out there. I had to pull teeth to get the team to stop using corporate buzzwords, train our expensive outside agencies on how we actually speak, and convince nervous execs to take a risk on a bolder, punchier voice.
The Architecture
I shifted my content budget from articles to assets. Instead of a 3,000-word guide, I built an interactive calculator. Instead of a thought piece, I published a data report. Each asset took roughly $400 to build and generates leads for 24+ months. My rule: if a language model could write it in ten seconds, I don't publish it. Hard data and interactive tools are the only things AI can't fake.
Execution Levers
Started by completely rewriting a high stakes campaign myself to prove the concept worked.
Used the doubled conversion rates from that campaign to force a massive editorial shift across the organization.
Built a strict banned words list and fired outside agencies that refused to adapt to our new standard.
Coached our internal writers to speak like actual humans and drop the corporate speak.

Scale Factors
Building a simple React tool costs me roughly $400 - less than a single freelance article. But the tool keeps generating leads for 24 months.
Engineering as Marketing creates lasting assets instead of fleeting organic traffic.
Executives trade emails for benchmarks, not generic advice.

Every bottleneck is a playbook waiting to happen. If this pattern resonates with a challenge you're facing, I'm always open to a peer conversation.
